  • Maintain URL consistency throughout the website.

A www and non-www version

Many online marketers still believe that it doesn’t make any difference, if their websites resolve with both version of www and non-www. However, the truth remains it is one of the biggest duplicate issues. Google treats a www and non-www URL as separate/different pages.

  • Try different methods to find duplicate URLs.

Outdated sitemaps

XML sitemaps are useful for search engines. These files help bots/robots to find all URLs present on a website. However, most webmasters create them only once and never update them.

Tips:

  • Always keep your XML sitemaps updated.
  • Remove broken links from the sitemaps.
  • Create dynamic sitemaps so that they get automatically updated.

Use HTTPS

HTTPS is a secure internet communication protocol that is designed to protect the integrity and confidentiality of data between a user’s computer and the website.
